Jamii Circle is a women's advocacy group providing support for women with refugee experiences who are settled in our region (Oxford and Perth Counties). Our approach includes help with improving and maintaining mental health and wellness. You can get help with your mental health, even if you are not mentally ill.
At the heart of the peer group support model is the Common Experience. It is a positive process linked to faster recovery and healing for people experiencing various forms of trauma both in conflict and post-conflict situations, and who have experienced violence (war trauma and/or interpersonal/domestic violence). We provide a safe and supportive space to help We provide a safe and supportive space to help women with refugee experiences with the process of adapting to a new life in Canada.
We meet on the the third Tuesday and third Saturday of the month, where members come to participate in workshops and other activites, share concerns and experiences and build community networks.
